The best diet plan is the one that works for you personally. (Remember Jarred from Subway. The rewrad of the sandwich was his way.) If you can't stick with it, then you will not be able to use it. The cabbage soup diet, the Hollywood diet, the Atkins diet, and all the other ones that are on the market will not help you, if you can't stick to them. Or if you can't afford them, then you can't stick to them. You have to find a diet plan that works for you. It might be that you don't have time to measure and count everything, then you need to find something that works that does not include measuring and count. Like the nutien system plan were they delivery the food to you. If you can count everything, then you might want to find a good recipe place that can help you. You have to know you before you start any diet plan. Can you live with the plan? Not the first week but the weeks down the line! But the best thing is to increase you activity level before you start a diet. Choose a time that you can get your exercise in. But also look to see if you can change your lifestyle a bit. If you take the elevator at work, then start taking the stairs. If you eat out at lunch, leave some food behind or choose the salad (watch out for the salad dressings, this can make your salad more calories then a cheeseburger.) After you have adjusted to the exercise, then add in your diet. The increase in activity will help you feel better. Then start in on the diet. One thing at a time. If you try to do to much at once, then you might end up doing nothing after a short while.

Again this is all palaver. Proteins are used by ALL cells to reibuld the cell, in the event there isnt enough then the body will break down muscle. Muscle only shrinks (atrophy) from lack of exercise. You need 1-1.5 grams of protein per lean weight per day, thats 100 grams at most for all of you per day. Anything less and your muscles will simply shrink, and your metabolism will decrease. You do not NEED carbohydrates AT ALL, your brain can use ketones just fine.
